Dear readers,
In the period of Easter holidays usually not to much is happening in our industry. Also, during major holidays I prefer to resume to positive news:
- Under the Interporc slogan “Transforming the present to lead the future,” Interporc and the Government of Aragon are organizing the “Aragon Pork Forum” on April 29th in Zaragoza, Spain.
- U.K. farming minister has announced Government investment of more than £45 million to help develop ‘groundbreaking technologies’ to boost Britain’s food security. Applications will open for the new Accelerating Development of Practices and Technologies (ADOPT) competition, which will commit up to £20.6 million of funding in 2025/2026. This grant will support farmers looking to test new technologies on their own farms and bridge the gap between innovation and real-world application.
Events calendar:
- Anuga Select China is a renowned international trade fair for food and beverages. The Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center hosts the event on 3 days from Thursday, 24.04.2025 to Saturday, 26.04.2025.
- The Berne Exhibition, known as BEA, is Switzerland’s largest public fair and takes place every spring at the modern BERNEXPO exhibition grounds in Bern. One key element of BEA is its animal exhibition. The fair takes place on 10 days from Friday, 25.04.2025 to Sunday, 04.05.2025.
- SIAL Canada is one of Canada’s leading trade shows for the food, beverage, and hospitality sectors. Enercare Centre in Toronto gives space to the fair for 3 days, from Tuesday, 29.04.2025 to Thursday, 01.05.2025.
Fun fact:
- In Norway Bryne, a top-flight team, triumphed 4-0 against Varhaug, a fourth-tier side, in the initial round of the Norwegian Cup competition. The standout player of the match was none other than Heine Aasen Larsen, who netted a remarkable hat trick. By the way, this club lounched Erik Haaland’s career. Larsen was awarded a 23-kilogram piece of pork as the MVP of the match. Pork is precious!
Happy Easter to everyone !
